Hiking with Goats

Outdoor Adventures for Every Body. Enjoy hiking on trails near Tucson, accompanied by a group of trained pack goats, a friendly guardian dog, and an outgoing naturalist who is also a darned good outdoor chef. We hike with people of all abilities.

Horse Sense

This unique program provides a safe environment to explore the interconnections and communications between people and horses. Designed to develop patterns of mindfulness and self-awareness with an increased understanding of horse behavior, Horse Sense teams people with horses and guides them to form partnerships based on mutual trust and respect. Activities focus on compassion, communication, self-awareness, empathy, and the development of effective leadership skills. Participants learn strategies to better manage stress, fear, and anger.

Mindfulness in a Round Pen
The Mindful Veterans Project partners with Escalante Springs Equine Rescue
and Rehabilitation bringing together formerly homeless veterans with formerly abused
and homeless horses in an environment to promote mutual growth and healing.
Hoods in the Woods

At-risk youth enjoy camping with trained pack goats and a kind guardian dog. Team building and resilience skills are learned, Leave-No-Trace hiking techniques are modeled and practiced, and kids get to be just kids. (Made possible by generous donations from The Southern Arizona Sports Foundation.)
